Twixl Enterprise Kiosk for iPad
We provide two different types of solutions for implementing an Enterprise Kiosk for your customers
Enterprise Kiosk Cloud
The Enterprise Kiosk Cloud is a cloud-based solution that runs on Twixl media servers (hosted on the very reliable and secure Microsoft Windows Azure platform).
A Twixl Enterprise Kiosk App Store app that connects to the Enterprise content is available as a free download.
Your customer manages the users and groups that can access the contents in the Enterprise Kiosk.
An unlimited number of Twixl-based publications can be created and distributed within the App Store.
Different types of documents, such as PDFs, Office, iWork etc. can be distributed as well.
Twixl Enterprise Kiosk Cloud is offered in the form of a one-year subscription, and a separate access fee per user, linked to the bandwidth.
This is the most accessible solution and the easiest to deploy. It’s plug and play. Just define your users and upload your documents and download the app from the App Store.
As an agency you could purchase this solution and offer it as a service to your clients. By managing the users and groups you are even able to work for different clients.
Enterprise Kiosk Server
This is the solution for in-house deployment. The software and the management backend will be installed on your own web server, and you will also host the contents yourself.
All files and all user records will remain within the company network.
This solution is available with an unlimited number of kiosks, and app distribution can be done either via the App Store or in-house.
The Twixl Publisher creation tool is not included in this solution, so for creation you will need to purchase a Twixl Publisher Platinum license.
This solution offers the most privacy and the highest level of independence and eliminates the cost per user.
It does require, however, more internal support and maintenance.
This is really the perfect solution for an agency to offer tablet publishing services to its clients. The agency can create specific (branded) kiosks per client.
Enterprise developer program
To be able to develop and distribute iPad apps in-house, your customers will need to apply for the Apple iOS Enterprise Developer Program. It is the company that needs to apply and not the agency. The agency needs to register its developers in the member center of the company they will develop for. So if they are going to develop different enterprise apps for different customers, their developers will need to be registered in different iOS Developer Enterprise Programs.
