Behind Twixl Media

Frank Steyaert, CEO

Frank Steyaert

Frank is our enthusiastic managing director. He finished school when the first personal computers rolled off the conveyor belts. Sometimes we even think that the very first one sat on his desk. He worked for a short time at a university computer center and for a long time in sales and maintenance of computer hardware. He started SHpartners our parentcompany in 1998, and has determined strategy since then, along with the other shareholders. He checks our figures and our productivity.

Luk Dhondt, Product Manager

Luk Dhondt

Luk started using his first Macintosh in 1985, and it was love at first sight. He's been a heavy user of Apple products ever since. In the 80s and 90s he was active in the software and hardware distribution business for such companies as Aldus and Macromedia. It seems like there a link to Adobe somewhere ;-) With the advent of the iPhone in 2007, Luk was involved in the startup of RovingBird as a project manager for the development of apps, initially for iPhone and later for iPad as well. When Twixl media was established in 2010, Luk was appointed as the product manager for Twixl Publisher.

Pieter Claerhout, Lead Developer

He enjoys building beautiful and elegant products, always pushing the boundaries to deliver a great user experience. He has a background in prepress and workflow management tools, he’s a seasoned iOS and web developer, and a hobby photographer. You could describe him as a creative mathematician with a real good feeling for design and usability. Pieter has a great affinity with publishing in general and loves every minute of building the future of digital publishing at Twixl media.

Laurent Gerniers, Marketing Manager

Laurent Gerniers

Laurent started his career in B-to-B sales, and rapidly moved on to create his own communication agency at the beginning of the internet era. He was one of the pioneers in digital communication, specialised in corporate identity. As an entrepreneur he established two different communication agencies, one specialised in corporate identity and one in pharmaceutical communication. After that he took a sabbatical to start up an educational project in Human resources but soon came back to his first love, strategic marketing. From his perspective branding and product experience are one. Branding and employees identity are one. Customer experience is key and delivering just that tickle more than expected is a must.

About our team

Our team is a mix of experienced developers with both a background in graphic design / prepress technology and programmers with experience in iOS and Android. They enjoy building beautiful and elegant products, always pushing the boundaries to deliver a great user experience. They have a great affinity with publishing in general and they love every minute of building the future of digital publishing at Twixl media.

In addition to their work on the Twixl Publisher product, our developers also work on custom development. This mix is important for us so we can keep on feeling the pulse of the market. We provide a quarterly roadmap of new features that are planned, which requires a constant focus on development, a focus based on a customer oriented-approach.
